Hi, I'm Devika. I'm a participatory service designer and strategist whose work spans systems thinking, design research, organizational change, and visual storytelling toward a more just and connected public life.

I began my design career in visual and animation design creating print, digital, animation, illustration and mixed-media projects for media companies like MTV India and Sony Music India and non-profit organizations.

I was a founding team member of the PHL Service Design Studio, where I helped build the City of Philadelphia's service design practice—growing the team, shaping practice and creating infrastructure for participatory service design in local government. With projects across homeless services, workplace protections, zoning, public service delivery, organizational change, community engagement and other equity-centered initiatives, I've designed with, not just for, the people often excluded and marginalized by public systems, institutions, policies and programs.

I invested over eight years in building greater people power and structural change from inside an institution that ultimately dismantled the work leading to the Studio’s closure in June 2026. Now, I’m turning toward community-rooted projects that allow people to reclaim their agency and power to drive change on their own terms. As a founding partner of Primary Source Archive, I’m designing alternative tools, rituals and infrastructure stewarded by communities.
